Horses for Sale
ZENA - SOLD!
Zena is an awesome horse with loads of life left in her. Born in October 2010 she has spent the last few years working as a trekking horse and the last 6 months being ridden exclusively by guides or experiences riders.
During her time with us Zena has been on multiple beach rides and been extensively hacked through farm and bush. Zena has been used on occasion to help round up rogue stock and proven herself to be brave and obedient when doing so. She has also done some basic lessons and group lessons in the arena as well as some low level jumping with potential to do a lot more in here with the right person. Zena is happy out in a group or alone, ridden leading a trek or anywhere in the line up. She has been used to rein other horses. She is most happy when ridden with a relaxed rein and by a confident rider. Zena has a good walk, trot, and canter with a tidy little jump. Zena is suitable for a home where she will continue to be ridden regularly by an experienced rider, as while she is now an experienced horse she does get her confidence from her rider and I feel will take advantage of an inexperienced home or rider as she is smart and learns quickly. Zena's history as we know it from word of mouth by previous owners: - done some ribbon days - has had one foal (and she was a good 'mother' to my 10 month old foal when he arrived a couple of years ago) - had some western training (though we are not sure who much or doing what) Why I am selling Zena: She is an awesome horse and a favourite among the guides with great paces. However she tends to scare many inexperienced and already nervous customers due to her tenancy to nod her head if her reins are picked up and help too tightly. We are in need of something that we can comfortably put a nervous beginner on as we have other young horses coming through that need attention. LORDIE - $500 - SOLD

LORDIE - $500 - SOLD
Lordie came to us to be a trekking horse but it became clear he was best suited to an individual owner. He has been on lease for last year but due to a change in circumstances for the person leasing him is now up for sale.
Lordie is a quiet enough horse, but does tend to put a new rider through their paces in the beginning (basically, he can be stubborn until he knows he wont get away with it), and for this reason is only suitable for a confident, competent rider. In the past he has been ridden by all sorts of people, different ages and abilities, but we feel he will do best with someone who has a decent amount of riding experience and isn't going to back down the first time a horse refuses a direction.
Having said that he has a nice temperament, enjoying being with people, and loves a good scratch. Ideally his next home will enjoy trekking and hacking out as he has done minimal work in the arena. Someone with the know how and determination may want to develop this area with him, otherwise he his quiet happy hacking out and confident when exploring new places.
