Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: What should we wear?
A: Great question! You absolutely need to wear closed in shoes. These could be boots, gumboots, or sneakers. You will also be more comfortable in long pants as stirrup leathers can pinch your legs.

Q: How old do children need to be to ride?
A: Children need to be 5 years old and have started school to come on a 1 hour trek with us. They can be put on a lead and led from our guides horses to ensure their safety.

Q: Are children and adults the same price?
A: Yes. Regardless of age the price is $60 for an hour and $100 for 2 hours per person.

Q: Can children ride with a parent?
A: No sorry. For health and safety reasons children need to be on their own horses. Our guides are well versed in leading horses on treks and will do this should it be required. Generally re start all younger children on a lead regardless and then see how their confidence and abilities are going as we head out.

Q: Can I walk along side a horse on a trek?
A: No sorry. Even at a walk horses move a lot faster than a person on the ground. Having someone walk will slow down our trek and we wont be able to cover the ground we need to. Stopping and starting all the time to wait for you can increase the chance of an accident as well. If you want to see a child you have bought ride then please book to come with them. Alternatively you are welcome to wait at the stables while the trekking group is out.

Q: How do we find you?
A: We have directions here for you to follow. Please note that mobile coverage does cut out and some spots along the way so we recommend having a screen shot or print out for your journey.

Q: Where are the photos from my ride?
A: All the photos from every ride get uploaded to our Facebook Page at the end of each day.
