Enzo Gel Saddle Pads

Enzo Gel Saddle Pads
Firstly I need to mention this is my personal honest findings and thoughts when using the Enzo Gel Saddle pad. This is not a sponsored or paid for post.
We started using the enzo gel saddle pads because like many horse trekking companies saddle fit can be a problem for us. The reason for this is that saddle fit for a horse ideally takes into account several things: saddle size and shape, horse size and shape, and the rider.
The third part is where we as a horse trekking company find the problem – our horses are ridden by different people on every ride, with different weights, heights, and balance to take into account.
We trialled using the Enzo Gel Pads on some horses that we where noticing saddle rubs on. Immediately we noticed less rubbing and slipping of saddles. This was a great start and so we decided to trial using them for every ride and see what happened. Here are our findings (I just wish we had taken photos!):
Firstly and immediately: we saw there was less or no saddle rubbing, even on a couple of our hard to fit horses. This led to happier horses on rides which included getting horses to trot and canter happier and easier, and had us feeling better knowing our horses were more comfortable despite at times having inexperienced or unbalanced riders.
The next thing we noticed: damaged skin on some horses started to heal. We had some horses who in the past had worn ill-fitting saddles that caused damaged skin and white hair to grow as a result. With wearing these gel saddle pads these problems started to clear up and over time have become less and less. Hair is re-growing in the correct colour and skins in also healing up smooth and flat.
Over time we have noticed continued improvements in our horses backs despite having different riders consistently. We continue to see horses that are happy and willing on treks while using these gel pads. When riding using the Enzo Pads ourselves we notice a difference between using and not using them. I personally notice with my horse that she is more comfortable on the steep downhills and going into a canter when she wears this gel pad, and with using filter back and a few other creams and rub on her previously damaged skin we are seeing the skin healing up despite not being able to give her months and months off with no saddle time (we couldn’t even if business was slow as she would simply go CRAZY being out of work! – Anyone who know Esse will understand that!)
If you want more information about the different rubs we use on our horses and for what look out for our next post, but for now this is a quick run down on what we have found with the Enzo Gel Saddle Pads. We love them and now most of our horses are riding in them and we are thankful that they are keeping our horses more comfortable and healthier and this of course leads to better rides for our customers.
If you are interested in purchasing one of these saddle pads for your own horse you can pick on up at The Saddlery Warehouse, because although you may not have the exact same challenges as us with different riders on your horse on every ride we understand that horses change shape throughout the year and these can provide a buffer to help keep your horse comfortable as it changes through the seasons.
*please note if your saddle is completely the wrong fit this will not solve your problem. It is important to try and get the best fitting saddle you can. These pads simply help alleviate pressure points and lesson jarring or the effects of fluctuation in your horse’s condition, rider balance, and work type or workload. The gel pads also, as mentioned above, helped to stop rubbing and shifting of saddles.
I hope you have found this information helpful. If you choose the try using one of these I hope you also find the results positive.
